The Voice of ChiroPatients

The Chiropraticati website has no affiliation with Chiropractic associations or organizations; it is owned and managed by a team of Chiropractic patients. Because of our satisfaction with Chiropractic, we wish to promote the profession and defend it against injustices. In order to put this site together we have laboured hundreds of hours, held scores of meetings and met significant expenses. We believe that our efforts will be rewarded in helping others to understand the benefits of Chiropractic Health Care.

The section on Chiropractic is extensive in breath and depth. Consider, for example, the definition of Chiropractic that we offer in five versions, from D.D. Palmer’s simple description of the profession as “an Art, Science and Philosophy” to that found in Dorland’s Medical Dictionary; the topics are then briefly presented for rapid consultation, followed by subsections that allow for in-depth study. Another example is the section on history that covers the development of Chiropractic in Italy and America, with focus articles on Dr Trentin, the Italian pioneer, and the fascinating story of courage and determination of Dr Reaver, America’s most jailed chiropractor. We are grateful to Mosby Publishing for permission to translate and include articles from the Journal of manipulative and physiological therapeutics in our Sience and Research section, which also reflects our in-depth coverage.

Historical Testimonials covers Chiropractic’s first patient, Harvey Lillard, and the sworn testimonials found in the 1979 New Zealand Report. A very nice collection of patient testimonials has been temporarily suspended as a precautionary measure. Sick people getting well under the care of Doctors of Chiropractic is not in line with the Italian Supreme Court's decision that healing can take place only through a medical doctor! Don’t miss the Internet premier photo of the late Diana, Princess of Wales in the Famous ChiroPatient section, which will soon be expanded to include famous Italian patients.

The Facts and News section covers worldwide National Federation of Medical Doctors, Surgeons and Dentists (the Italian equivalent of the American Medical Association) thought that the time was ripe for their monopoly to exploit the situation by declaring Chiropractic and eight alternative medicines to be “medical practices” to be practised only by members of their Federation, who are all recognition of Chiropractic and includes official government documents and past and present proposals for legislation. Full coverage is given to recent and ongoing events. When the Italian Institute of Statistics revealed that 9 million Italians were utilizing non-conventional medicine, for example, the MDs and dentists. The section contains the unconvincing defence that the Federation gave when their decision was attacked by Nobel laureates and others from the scientific community. At the same time, the dentists thought that it would be a clever move to provide jobs for their unemployed colleagues by setting up a Register of Chiropractic and Osteopathy and qualifying themselves with 80 hours of in-house training; this is currently under official parliamentary investigation. The whole situation is presented with ChiroPraticati editorial comments  – and there is a great deal to comment on concerning these evolving stories! In the Inchiesta section we are conducting an opinion poll that will provide a database of ChiroPatients’ for the development and advancement of the Chiropractic profession: it allows you to download Chiropraticati promotional posters, visit cards and form letters, and to sign up for e-mail updates. With the collaboration of practising Doctors of Chiropractic worldwide, we intend to assemble a directory of bona fide chiropractic practitioners so that Italian-speaking patients can be assured of their educational background and professional qualifications. In addition to the numerous fake chiropractors in Italy, we may soon be faced with a new breed of pseudo “chiro-dentists”.opinions and concerns; visitors are also invited to participate in our ongoing Forum debate. The site is all in Italian and is intended for the needs of the Italian community; an English version may be added in due course. And please remember that we are multi-lingual: you can write to us in any language and, with your permission, we will translate your comments or letter into Italian for publication in the site. We hope that our site serves its purpose and that it will be a model for others wishing to serve the Profession.
